Gobble Gobble

Happy Thanksgiving! We're wrapping up a laid back Thanksgiving weekend with the family. The kids had off the whole week and are getting ready to go back to school tomorrow. They had a fun week celebrating Natalie's birthday, having sleep overs galore, going on hikes, and going to the movies. On Thursday morning we ate pumpkin roll for breakfast and watched the parade. Natalie and Anthony told me they were grateful for their family, pets, food, and shelter. Aw! At the same time the guys were playing their annual football game in the rain. You can tell they're getting older because they were sore for days!

Around 1 we headed over to Peggy's. I had made pumpkin role, sweet potato casserole, and green bean casserole. Peggy made the turkey, stuffing, and a gazillion delicious snacks. Sarah and Jess made mashed potatoes, pies, deviled eggs, and broccoli casserole. We ate like kings! We had a great family day just hanging out, catching up, playing Wii, and watching football. I can't believe how fast all of the babies are growing!
On Saturday morning we got in the truck and headed to Davidson's tree farm. We picked a short fir tree that had a nice shape to it. It's definitely our smallest tree ever but it is so sweet and manageable! Mom and Dad took the kids to the Westminster Christmas Parade while Rog and I went Christmas shopping. Today we're putting the tree up and decorating it. Even though Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, I'm looking forward to a great Christmas season with the kids!
