Natalie turned 9 on Friday! We can't believe how old she is! This year we only had a family get together. We didn't have a party with Nat's friends because her big gift is a trip to New York City in December to go to the American Girl Store. She is soooo excited about it. She still had a special day though. She had to go to school but she had cupcakes to share with her friends and it was the last day of school before break so it was an easy day.

For dinner Nat requested a meal we'd had in Italy: fresh pasta with grilled chicken, olive oil, and pine nuts. Jess made a salad, Sarah made bread, and Mom and Peggy brought cake and ice cream. Mom had the cake made with a monkey and a palm tree and it ended up looking exactly like the mural I painted in Natalie's room. They all made it much easier by helping out with food!

Nat got some nice really nice gifts from everyone like a scrapbook, boots, clothes, a suitcase, and a camera. She was really excited about getting clothes, which made her seem so grown up to us! Natalie, Anthony, and Carter even gave us a hilarious little musical performance. It was a really nice night with the family celebrating our little blond haired blue eyed girl :)
