Our Christmas Tree

Since we didn't put up a tree last year we were very eager to put one up early this Christmas. Our artificial tree did not survive all of the moving so we decided to get our first real tree. We headed over to Davidson Tree Farm in Upperco and set out to find the "perfect tree." It's funny because last year we gave my parents grief for making us trudge over mountains and valleys on the farm to find their perfect tree, but we ended up doing the same thing to find ours. The weather was beautiful and mild for December and I think the kids really enjoyed the experience. Riley got lots of compliments on his pretty bow and now we refer to him as "Christmas Dog".

Within the first five minutes we found a beautiful tree we both agreed on, but decided to keep looking because we had only just gotten there. So we dragged the kids, Peggy, and Riley along for about half an hour but couldn't find any good trees. I decide we should go back to the first tree only to find it had been chopped down. We ended up searching for another hour for the next best tree. The kids were troopers though and Peggy tried very hard to help us find it. We decided on a frasier fir around where we first started looking :) Now we have it up and it smells so good! The kids can't wait to decorate it...
