Natalie's Hospital Stay

We are so glad to have Natalie home from Hopkins! She is feeling soooo much better :) It all happened so fast- she had absolutely no symptoms the week before aside from fussiness and then Friday night her fever began and was 102 by the morning. When she began to vomit and her fever reached 104.3 Saturday afternoon our pediatrician sent us down to the pediatric ER. She was so out of it until Monday night. We could barely get her to take her tylenol, let alone eat or drink anything. They should totally give tylenol intravenously, it would make it so much easier! Anthony stayed with Peggy, Russ, and Jess and while we felt guilty that we weren't with him on the weekend before his big birthday, we knew he was in good hands. It was really hard to not be with him on the morning of his special day- I always wake the kids up with a video camera and ask them what day it is. Nat was finally discharged on Tuesday, Anthony's birthday, around 5, and Rog picked us up. We stopped at ToysRus on the way home to pick up a few toys for his birthday (we had planned to shop on Sunday so we had NOTHING!) and then we had cake with our family when we got home. Hopefully our sweet boy knows how special he is to us. We're busy getting ready for his birthday party on Sunday and he can't wait!
